Why do I have to register before making the payment? How important is it for me to register ?  What if I don't want to register? 

Unlike other Payment Gateways, PayUmoney thrive to provide to our customers with the safest and convenient online shopping experience when they make transactions on an online store using PayUmoney Payment Gateway. PayUmoney make ensure to transfer the payment to our bank account once PayUmoney get a confirmation from you. This is why it is important that you register with PayUmoney the first time you make a payment on any store using PayUmoney Payment Gateway. You can use the same credentials, to make payment on a different store using PayUmoney Payment Gateway. 

Once you are registered with PayUmoney, you will have your own dashboard where you can check the transactions made by you and their status as PayUmoneyll. Also, you have access to the "Release Payment" button. Once you have received your order, you can click on this button to intimate PayUmoney to release the payment to the store. This way your money is safe with PayUmoney until you get the stuff ordered by you.

How important is it to respond to the release payment request for a given transaction? 

Once the booking is confirmed, PayUmoney will raise a request to release the payment against that order. As soon as this request is raised, an intimation is sent to you. You can then login to your PayUmoney account and click on "Release Payment" button against the transactions in question. You get 3 days to either release a payment or raise a dispute (in case you haven't received your order). If you don't respond within 3 days, the payment is released anyways. Therefore, it is very important that you take action within 3 days of receiving the notification to Release Payment in case you haven't received your order from us.

What are the various payment statuses and what do they stand for? 

Status of a Payment - 

A transaction can have several different statuses as explained below.

Not Started – The transaction has not been started yet.

Initiated – The transaction has been started but not completed.

Money With PayUmoney– The transaction was successful and the transaction amount is with PayUmoney.

Under Dispute – A dispute for the transaction has been raised.

Refunded – The entire amount of the transaction has been refunded.

Partially Refunded – A part of the amount of the transaction has been refunded.

Refund In Progress – A refund request has been sent to the bank.

Bounced – Incomplete or no details provided at PayUmoney payment page.

Failed – The transaction didn't complete due to a failure.

Settlement in Process – Settlement for the transaction is in process.

Completed – The transaction is settled and complete.

What happens if my computer shuts down right when the Payment is getting authorized? 

There could be 2 scenarios -

The payment got authorized by the bank but the communication of the same was not received by PayUmoney. In this case the your account will get debited by the bank but the payment status will be Initiated/Failed/Dropped. For such transactions, PayUmoney receive a confirmation from the bank later and then PayUmoney initiate a refund for the payment to your account.

The payment didn't get authorized by the bank. In this case the your account will not be debited and PayUmoney don't get any further updates from the banks. The payment status will be Initiated/Failed/Dropped. PayUmoney suggest you to check the status of such transactions from your PayUmoney Customer dashboard once before making the same payment again.

I got charged for a transaction and got a message from my bank notifying me of the debit. Hover, the merchant received the transaction status as 'failed/dropped'. How do solve this issue? 

Generally this happens when the communication from bank wasn't received at the time of payment. In such cases PayUmoney receive a confirmation from the bank later and then PayUmoney initiate a refund for the payment to the your account. You will receive an email from PayUmoney notifying you for the same.

Do you accept international Cards? 

PayUmoney only accept DebitCards / Credit Cards issued in India and Netbanking option is accepted for Indian bank accounts.

Do you accept any other currency except for Rupee? 

PayUmoney currently only accept Indian Rupee (INR).

If I save my Card details for future transactions, how secure are the card details with PayUmoney? 

Your Card details are secured extremely safely with dedicated encrpted server which is PCI DSS compliant. Once stored the card details can be edited/removed anytime by the you.

How does PayUmoney notify the buyers about a payment ? 

PayUmoney sends email and SMS notification to the buyers with the required payment details when a payment is made.

How does the payment appear in my bank statement? 

In your bank account statements, the description for the amount debited be PayU/PayUmoney or VIN/PayU or VIN/PayUmoney.

What are PayUmoney dispute handling policies? 

PayUmoney encourage to resolve the dispute between yourselves using PayUmoney Dashboard messages within 5 days. If the issue is not resolved within 5 days, PayUmoney dispute resolution team intervenes and resolves the problem objectively. Your money will be refunded to your account if the fault is ours.

What is dispute resolution timeframe? 

The maximum time to resolve any dispute is 12 working days.

How safe are the buyer's interests? 

Your money remains with PayUmoney until you confirm and release the payment yourself using your PayUmoney dashboard. If we requests for release of payment and you have not received the confirmation of bookings, you can raise a dispute.

Our Dispute Resolution team will make sure that you receive your money back if the fault is ours.

What is the refund timeframe? How much time does it take for the refund to reflect in my account once the refund is initiated by the merchant?

In case of debit card / credit card transactions, the refund should reflect in your your bank account within 2-3 working days of refund request being placed. 

In case of Netbanking transactions, the refund should reflect in your your account within 4-7 working days once the refund request is placed with PayUmoney..
